And please, please, please read Three Cups of Tea if you haven't already. It's soooooo good! (I'd have said "amazing", but that word is worn ragged) I haven't read this yet, but it's been a very popular book at the bookstore where I work. We've had quite a few customers come in and ask for it.

I'm reading Julie Andrew's autobiography Home. I've always liked her!

I'm reading The Andromeda Strain again, after viewing the mini-series on A&E. The more I read the book, the more I remember how good the original 1971 film was, and the worse I realize that this version was.

I'm reading Which Lie Did I Tell by William Goldman. He's one of the top screenwriters in film and the book tells of the many adventures in film that he's had. There's a wonderful chapter on The Princess Bride. What I like most about William Goldman's nonfiction is that he writes likes he's sitting across the table talking to you. His books are very enjoyable.

I want to read What Happened by Scott McCellan, but I can't find a copy. It's sold out everywhere.

I'm starting on New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. There's so much excitement about her books lately that I thought I'd check it out.

I'm starting on New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. There's so much excitement about her books lately that I thought I'd check it out. Our bookstore is going to have a midnight selling of the fourth book in the series, Breaking Dawn. So many of the people I work with have loved the three other books in the Twilight series. But I think I'll wait until the next one is already out before I read them. Then I can read them one after the other. That's how I like to read a series. Whenever a new Harry Potter book came out, I reread the others so everything would be fresh when I started the new book.

I'm reading How Doctors Think by Jerome Groopman. It's very interesting. The next time I go to see my doctor, I'll read it in the exam room while I'm waiting to see him. (My doctor has a great sense of humor!)

I'm in a John Grisham mood now. I just finished The Testament and now I'm reading The Runaway Jury.

Now I'm reading Tai-Pan by James Clavell. I love his books. They're very long but his writing is very tight--there's just a great deal going on. If you want to escape into another time and place in history, his books will take you there.

I finished Tai-Pan and am now reading Noble House by James Clavell. I prefer to read books in hardcover and I have Noble House in hardcover. But it's so big--1,206 pages--that the hardcover is very awkward and heavy to handle. Plus I love to read in bed while lying on my back. I was afraid if I dropped this book, it would crush my skull (or at least break my nose). So I invested in a paperback copy. When people say "some books are dangerous", they have no idea just how right they are sometimes.

a bio of Heath Ledger. Has anyone seen the Dark Knight yet? Yes, I have. Great film, and a terrific performance by Heath Ledger. I didn't know he had that in him! I finally finished Noble House (excellent book, if a bit long), and am now reading The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede. The series consists of four novels: 1. Dealing with Dragons2. Searching for Dragons3. Calling on Dragons4. Talking to DragonsIt's a teen fantasy series, but I know several adults who have really enjoyed it. The books have good adventure and wonderful humor. I read them again about every other year.

Now I'm reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix again. With the prequel story and Rowling publishing a book of wizarding fairy tales in December, I'm just in a Harry Potter mood. I'm starting with Order of the Phoenix as I just got the PC game for it.
