In Memoriam – Arthur C. Clarke One of my favorite writers has passed away. I first read one of Arthur C. Clarke’s novels when I was about ten, thanks to my father who is a huge science fiction fan. I’ll write more about Clarke later. Here’s his obit from the New York Times: Arthur C. Clarke, 90, Science Fiction Writer, DiesBy Gerald Jonas, NY Times, March 19, 2008 Arthur C. Clarke, a writer whose seamless blend of scientific expertise and poetic imagination helped usher in the space age, died early Wednesday in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where he had lived since 1956. Here's a good essay from the New York Times about Clarke: A Boy’s Life, Guided by the Voice of Cosmic WonderBy Dennis Overbye, NY Times, March 25, 2008 On the night last week after Arthur C. Clarke, the science fiction writer and space visionary, died at the ripe age of 90, it was cloudy and threatening rain in New York. I was frustrated because I wanted to go outside to see if the stars were still there....www.nytimes.com/2008/03/25/science/25essa.html

Hi Kahlessa, and everyone else! I'm back!
Yeah, Arthur C Cleark was a great author and a visionary. It's a great loss for the mankind that he died. But then again, every good things has to come to an end. That's the nature of the world, and he's no exception.
I thank him for everything he's done for the mankind. If not for him the world would have been a poorer place... The list of his innovative ideas is a long one...
Thank you sir!

I really loved all the space odessey books! And Childhood's End, though that scared me when I was younger.
