Hey, Kahlessa!
Don't sweat the small stuff. I'll just be a guest as zkickup at this computer, though I won't be able to send a pm.
I looked all over but found nothing on what this thing, karma, is. Can you explain that? Thanks!

Kahlessa and KickUp, I can give you both a little tip. This might work. Kahlessa, since you have administrative privileges, you can delete KickUp's registered member profile. Then ask her to create another account. This will most probably work.

DudleyB,
ROFL. What a crack-up! Poor trees. Now I know what happened to the majestic gum tree that once stood at least 100 feet high in my backyard! I didn't breathe on it enough.

Kahlessa, a small request: as far as I know, there should be an option which allow us to receive E-Mail notifications if there are new posts in a thread which we have posted. Normally it is a check box. Could you please look into it. There's a chance that it is in your Admin's page which need to be activated. It's really convinient for us to have notifications if there are new posts. Otherwise we have to go through all the threads everyday. Okay, it seems that to be notified about new posts to a thread, you have to bookmark it. Then you can go into your profile and adjust the settings so you will be emailed when something new is posted to the thread. I’ve eliminated the karma feature due to a few requests about that. It looks like no one can choose individually whether to allow it or not like on the Crichton message. So I just decided to eliminate it. So no more exalting or smiting the other members.

Hi Kahlessa,
I'm still having trouble signing in as Kickup. Do I need to re-register? Do I still have a profile up?
Thanks. Oh, and I didn't mind the Karma thing. I just didn't know what it was. From your comment, now I know it's the voting for or against a member. Thanks again. Hugs!

I'm still reading the administrator materials, but I've learned a few things already.

Hey!
I'm Elizabeth and I'm a big fan of Michael Crichton's! My favorite book is Sphere. I tried to sign up on the message board there, but I got an email that I have to get approved. I registered three weeks ago and I'm still waiting to get approved. I saw this link for discussing global warming so here I am. But I don't want to discuss global warming, though I'm sure it's very important. But I notice a few things about Michael Crichton. Can I talk about his other books besides State of Fear?
How long did it take any of you guys to get approved?

Well, I got registered there in 2004 and as far as I can remember, at that time it took no time at all. Maybe they take more time now...

Feel free to talk about any and all Crichton matters here. As for the Crichton message board, the administrator said they’re changing the software. Perhaps that’s the delay. When I joined, I didn’t have to get approved; I just signed up and got on. So it sounds like they’re changing things over there.

I shall now reveal to you the secret knowledge of this karma that you are seeking. It is very simple thing for which you are to please observe this ancient wisdom coming from the mouth of the sacred cows: home.comcast.net/~dudley.benton/reincarnation.jpgP.S. Have you ever noticed that no one who's ever been reincarnated was ever a peasant? They were all princesses, usually Nefertiti. Poor gal, she was really busy! Half the people on talk shows were her at one time!
