My favorite regularly broadcast program is NCIS, which stands for Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The show spun off, not from the CSI franchise, but from JAG, the series about Navy lawyers. NCIS has excellent acting and writing.
Another of my favorites is the game show Jeopardy!. I tryout for Jeopardy on Friday in Chicago. This will be the 5th time I've tried out--I've passed the qualifying test three times. But before when I tried out, I was a teacher and apparently if you are a teacher, lawyer, doctor, or writer, it is much harder to get on because the show strives for a nice demographic mix and they get more people in those professions qualifying than they can put on in a season. Now I'm a bookstore clerk, so maybe my chances will be better. I took a test online and I have to take another test there.

The Jeopardy! tryout went well. I passed the test again and I'm in the pool of contestants. Now I wait to see if I get called. You get called about a month before they want you out there in LA to appear on the show. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

And I love Star Trek! All of the series though Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager are my favorites. Any Star Trek fans out there?

Now I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance, as most of the other shows are now reruns. It's interesting, and I've always enjoyed dance.
One show I watch year round is The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. It has the best political satire around. And they have excellent guests. Barbara Walters was on last night!
