www.zombietime.com/gore_in_marin/I thought this was good for a chuckle, and thought I'd share . Saw the link posted on one of the political blogs I read. A GW skeptic went to a Gore thingy to hear him speak. I like the captions-they are so normal sounding & funny. LOL

Here’s Al Gore’s latest Chicken Little op-ed in the NY Times: Moving Beyond KyotoBy AL GORE, NY Times, July 1, 2007 www.nytimes.com/2007/07/01/opinion/01gore.htmlWE — the human species — have arrived at a moment of decision. It is unprecedented and even laughable for us to imagine that we could actually make a conscious choice as a species, but that is nevertheless the challenge that is before us.

Here’s an excellent editorial about Gore’s Live Earth concerts. It’s by Bjorn Lomborg, the author of The Skeptical Environmentalist. Live Earth Deaf to RealityBy Bjorn Lomborg When we look at the evidence, we discover again and again that the best solutions to the world’s biggest challenges aren’t the ones we hear about the most. We could save many more lives during extreme weather events, for example, by insisting on hurricane-resistant building standards than we would by committing to Live Earth’s target of a 90% reduction in carbon emissions by 2050.

BBC switches off climate specialBy Richard Black, Environment correspondent, BBC News website news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6979596.stm The BBC has scrapped plans for Planet Relief, a TV special on climate change.
The decision comes after executives said it was not the BBC's job to lead opinion on climate change.
Celebrities such as Ricky Gervais were said to be interested in presenting the show, which would have involved viewers in a mass "switch-off" to save energy.
The BBC says it cut the special because audiences prefer factual output on climate change. Environmentalists slammed the decision as "cowardice".

Here’s an article that ran in the NY Times back in March about Gore’s alarmism. From a Rapt Audience, a Call to Cool the HypeHollywood has a thing for Al Gore and his three-alarm film on global warming, “An Inconvenient Truth,” which won an Academy Award for best documentary. So do many environmentalists, who praise him as a visionary, and many scientists, who laud him for raising public awareness of climate change.
But part of his scientific audience is uneasy. In talks, articles and blog entries that have appeared since his film and accompanying book came out last year; these scientists argue that some of Mr. Gore’s central points are exaggerated and erroneous. They are alarmed, some say, at what they call his alarmism.

www.irenasendler.org/This is the women who lost to Al Gore for the Nobel Peace Prize. A hero named Irene Sendler who is 96 years old. She rescued thousands of children in the Warsaw Ghetto during WWII and hid them in orphanages and homes of other brave families. She was arrested by the Gestapo and was totured to tell where the children were but did not reveal it. (I'm sure she did not do it for any "Award") I could just barf!

Thank you for this, Space Monkey! The Nobel Peace Prize has, more often than not, been based on politics rather than merit. As I told one friend, it’s not like Gore had a chance in hell of winning the prize in science. (Or James Hansen for that matter)

Gore Gets Cold ShoulderBy Steve Lytte, Sydney Morning Herald, October 14, 2007 One of the world's foremost meteorologists has called the theory that helped Al Gore share the Nobel Peace Prize "ridiculous" and the product of "people who don't understand how the atmosphere works".
Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts, told a packed lecture hall at the University of North Carolina that humans were not responsible for the warming of the earth.
